DESCRIPTION |
| General Education |
This program cohort certifies potential teachers in Elementary, Bilingual Elementary, Special Education, Middle-level and Secondary-level areas. |
| Transition to Teaching |
This program cohort is part of a US Department of Education grant geared towards certifying potential teachers in secondary-level mathematics and science with teachers committing to 3 years with either Austin Independent School District or Taylor Independent School District. |
| Career & Technical Education |
This program utilizes candidates’ skills entering from various professional areas and provides participants with the training needed to use those skills in teaching today’s middle school and high school students. The 7 areas associated with Career and Technical Education (CTE) include:
- Agriculture
- Business
- Family and Consumer Science
- Health Science
- Marketing
- Technology Education
- Trade and Industry (Examples include: Auto Mechanics, Welding, Electronics, Criminal Justice, Media Technology, Construction, etc.)

| Austin ISD Teacher Academy |
The Academy is a collaboration between Austin Independent School District and Region XIII Educator Certification Program and is designed specifically to place teachers in the critical need areas of Math, Science, and Bilingual education. |
