Apply to CTE-ECP
CURRENT APPLICATION SESSION CLOSED -- NEXT SESSION WILL RE-OPEN FEBRUARY 2, 2009
We are pleased that you have made the decision to apply to the Career and Technical Education Educator Certification Program (CTE-ECP). Below are the requirements for completing an application for CTE-ECP during the open application period.
If you have the academic, technical, and/or work-experience background as required and are interested in becoming a CTE teacher, please submit the items below to our office. If you have been hired as a CTE teacher (or are presently teaching without CTE certification), our CTE education specialists can provide you with details for obtaining CTE certification through Region XIII Educator Certification Program.
Upon acceptance, a letter will be mailed to you. If you have not been hired by a district, the leter will serve a s proof of acceptance into the Region XIII Educator Certification Program.
The application process is comprised of 4 parts:
- Provide copies of college transcripts (or proof of high school diploma for selected Trades & Industrial Education participants).

- Complete the online application. If applying to teach Marketing, Health Science Technology, or Trades and Industrial Education, also include documentation of work experience on official Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) form.
- Submit $75.00 application fee through the online payment.
School districts may begin the hiring process for CTE positions in late spring but many do not finish until late July or early August. Participants in the distance learning cohort (Abilene, Beaumont, Denton, El Paso, Houston, Huntsville, Lubbock, Midland, Mount Pleasant, Rio Grande Valley, San Angelo) must be employed in the desired CTE certification area no later than September 5, 2008 to remain in the 2008-2009 program.
