Mentoring and ECP Intern: Roles and Responsibilities

The following is a quick view of the requirements for all ECP Mentors. Please visit the Training page for a list of the training sessions. Please visit the Resource page for list of all documents in electronic format.

FIRST SEMESTER
SECOND SEMESTER
  • Attend the Mentor/Intern Orientation training session together
  • Attend the Developing the Novice Teacher training session (only the mentor attends)
  • Attend the Mentor/ Intern Learning Focused Relationships training session together
  • Submit 2 Discussion Summaries by November 30, 2008
  • Submit 2 Observation Summaries by November 30, 2008
  • Attend the Mentor/Intern Putting Students First training session together
  • Submit 2 Discussion Summaries by April 15, 2009
  • Submit 2 Observation Summaries by April 15, 2009
 
Please send all Discussion Summary and Observation Summary forms to the ECP office as soon as they are completed. These forms provide us with information so we can best assist both the mentor teacher and  the novice teacher.

Prior to sending the forms, please make sure that you distribute a copy of each form to the appropriate people:

  • 1 copy of the completed form is submitted to the ECP office
  • 1 copy of the completed form is given to the campus administrator
  • 1 copy of the completed form remains with the mentor
  • 1 copy of the completed form remains with the intern
