Mentor- Intern Structured Conversations Training Sessions 2010-2011

Intern and Mentor: Please work with your principal to determine whether to participate in the Region XIII ECP mentor program or your school district’s mentor program. If you district does not have a mentor pro-gram you must participate in the ECP Mentor –Intern Structured Conversations.

The Educator Certification Program has developed a Mentor Program for new teachers(interns) as a means to positively enrich the mentor/intern relationship. This program includes 4 training sessions:

  1. Orientation (mentor and intern attend together)
  2. Developing the Novice Teacher (only the mentor attends)
  3. Learning-Focused Relationships (mentor and intern attend together)
  4. Putting Students First (mentor and intern attend together)

It is our goal that these sessions provide you the time and infrastructure needed to cultivate a relationship focused on learning. It will also give you opportunities to reflect, discuss, problem-solve, and plan for success with the intern, as you attend the sessions together.

Notes to Mentors:

  • Registration for these training workshops is required through E-Campus.
  • You may click on the course number for quick access to registration for that course, however, you will be asked to login to your E-Campus account, before you can register for thee workshop
  • PLEASE NOTE: Only the MENTOR needs to register for the workshop even though the intern and mentor will attend each session together (excluding the Developing the Novice Teacher sessions.) All sessions have a seating limit, so if one session is full, please choose another session
