The Region 13 Career and Technical Education Program (CTE) is an accelerated 12-month program designed to provide a pathway to teacher certification for professionals who already have education, work experience, and/or industry licensure/certification in a content area. This rigorous, field-based program integrates theory with practice allowing teacher-interns to make valuable contributions in preparing students for both college and career.

The CTE Certification program has 2 distinct cohorts:
Austin Cohort: Austin and surrounding area.
- Teacher-interns employed by schools within the Region 13 service area, as well as those from schools within a 100-mile radius of Austin.
Statewide Cohort: Other areas of Texas (Click to view sites)
- Teacher-interns employed by schools within a defined area surrounding each of the distance learning sites.
- Cities and their surounding areas include: Abilene, Amarillo, Beaumont, Del Rio, Denton, El Paso, Huntsville, Houston, Lubbock, Midland, Pittsburg, San Angelo, San Antonio, Waco
Teaching with Full Pay:
- During the internship year, the teacher-intern secures a position with a district as a teacher of record with full pay and full benefits.
Upon successful completion of the internship year, program requirements and state licensing requirements, participants will earn a Standard teaching certificate in their teaching assignment/certification area.
