Application Process

The application process is comprised of the following parts:

1. For CTE certificates that do not require prior experience follow the directions below:

(Business and Finance, Agriculture, Technology Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Math/Physical Education/Engineering)

  • Complete the online application (and pay the $100.00 non-refundable fee.)
  • Submit official college transcripts from ALL colleges attended to the Region 13 Certification Department.

         **Official transcripts must be received in an unopened envelope or sent via a secure e-mail directly from the college or university.

  • Submit a copy of the PACT exam score.

2. For CTE certificates that require prior experience, follow the directions below:

Marketing

  • Complete the online application (and pay the $100.00 non-refundable fee.)
  • Submit the Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) and official transcripts to the Region 13 Certification Department
  • Complete the Region 13 study plan to prepare for the Marketing 6-12 (275) PACT exam.
  • Take the Marketing 6-12 (275) PACT exam.
  • Submit a copy of the PACT exam score.

Health Science

  • Complete the online application (and pay the $100.00 non-refundable fee.)
  • Submit the Statement of Qualifications, health care or medical license, certification, or registration, and official transcripts to the Region 13 Certification Department.
  • Complete the Region 13 study plan to prepare for the Health Science 6-12 (273) PACT exam.
  • Prepare for and take the Health Science 6-12 (273) PACT exam.
  • Submit a copy of the PACT exam score.

Trades and Industrial Education (TIE)

  •  Complete the Online Application (and pay the $100.00 non-refundable fee).
  • Submit Official College Transcripts from ALL colleges attended to the Certification Department, (or proof of high school diploma for selected Trades & Industrial Education participants).

         **Official transcripts must be received in an unopened envelope sealed by the college or university

        - Upon approval, a pre-screening form will be emailed to you. If you have not been hired by a district, the letter will serve as proof that you are eligible for certification through the Region 13 Educator Certification Program.

        -If Selected, submit the Pre-Service Fee by due date.

  • Social Security Number or Resident Alien number (this will serve as your application reference number)
  • Education history including institutions attended, and dates.
  • Employment history including supervisor's name and contact information and dates of employment.
  • Visa, Master Card, or check routing information pay for the $100 application fee.
