Region XIII Educator Certification Program (ECP) is collaborating with Austin Independent School
District and Taylor Independent School District to place 26 beginning
high school mathematics and science teachers in high needs schools
throughout their districts.
As part of the Transition to Teaching grant, Region XIII assures these
teachers are able to incorporate project-based learning as well as integrate technology into classrooms. Through these trainings, the
teachers will be prepared to not only work in, but lead their campuses
in high school redesign initiatives to better prepare students to meet
the challenges of postsecondary education.
Region XIII Educator Certification Program
The Region XIII Educator Certification Program (ECP) is a teacher preparation and certification program that provides professionals from different fields an alternative to the traditional college route to certification. This rigorous, field-based program integrates theory with practice, allowing teacher-interns to make valuable contributions to public schools as they build strategies for success in the classroom.
Why choose Region XIII’s Transition to Teaching Cohort:
- evening and weekend classes allowing ongoing employment
- scholarship through grant
- summer stipend
- guaranteed employment
- use of state of the art technological equipment in school classroom (i.e. laptop, LCD projector, document camera)
- training by nationally recognized program and highly recruited staff
- stipend to purchase classroom supplies
